FTSE AIM Investment Market

In May 2005, FTSE Group enhanced its coverage of the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) by updating and renaming the existing index, and launching two new tradable indices for the market. The series has been renamed as the FTSE AIM Index Series, and comprises two new large cap indices, and the re-launched FTSE AIM Index.

The new tradable indices segment the market in a new way and have been designed to be used as the basis for a wide variety of index-linked products.

Since its launch in 1995, over 2,800 companies have joined the FTSE AIM Index. The index is reviewed quarterly, and the constituent companies are subject to change, depending on the market capitalisation data as at the end of February, May, August and November.
